FITNESS

FOCUS

Heading to the gym can be intimidating for a lot of people. Many exercisers aren’t sure what specific workouts will give them the most benefit. Others have no trouble getting started but lose motivation before reaching their goals. Some get off to a quick start but end up having an injury that derails them. Still others just get tired of doing the same thing day after day.

At Outlaw FitCamp, our certified personal trainers can help you overcome all these obstacles, and more. People sometimes think hiring a personal trainer is too expensive, but if you look at the big picture, you’ll see that’s not the case. The long-term benefits of working with a personal trainer include an improved sense of well-being, healthier body, better mental state, healthier habits that can last a lifetime, and even lowered medical costs. Priceless!

There are many rewards you’ll get from working out with a personal trainer. At Outlaw FitCamp, we consistently see these ten benefits of using a personal trainer:

1) Safety first

One of the main benefits of working with a personal trainer is that they are trained to teach proper form. This not only helps you achieve results faster, but it also keeps you from getting injured. It’s critically important to receive guidance on proper form and how to use exercise equipment properly. Where exercise is concerned, quality is always better than quantity.

2) Increases accountability

When no one is meeting you at the gym, it can be easy to stay on the couch or do something else instead. You tell yourself you’ll go tomorrow. But when you have a session scheduled with your personal trainer, you’re much more likely to make it to your workouts.

3) Keeps up your motivation

Personal trainers also know how to keep your motivation high. When you have regular sessions with a personal trainer, you have someone in your corner encouraging and challenging you. When you feel this support, it’s very motivating.

4) Helps with goal setting and achieving those goals

Goal setting is an important part of becoming more fit. A personal trainer has the knowledge and training to help you set realistic, achievable, but challenging goals. They’ll work with you one-on-one to identify what you want to achieve—both short-term and long-term.

5) Educates you on health and fitness

A good personal trainer does more than lead you through a workout. A certified personal trainer has extensive training and knowledge about effective exercise, physiology, behavior change, and more. You’re going to learn a lot about optimal fitness when working with a trainer.

6) Gives you an individualized plan designed for your challenges and goals

A certified personal trainer has the knowledge to develop an individualized plan specifically for your body, your fitness level, and your personal goals. This is hard to do on your own. Personal trainers constantly make adjustments to your workouts to give you the best results.

7) Provides a variety to your workouts

It’s easy to get in a workout rut when you’re exercising alone. How many people do you see go to the gym, walk on the treadmill, and head home? If you don’t change up your routine, your progress is sure to stall. Personal trainers will introduce you to exercises you’ve never done before. They know how to decrease your likelihood of getting bored and hitting a plateau.

8) Works with your schedule to give you flexibility for workout times

A personal trainer works around your schedule. When you workout with a trainer, you have the freedom to create your own workout schedule and still have someone there to help you.

9) Challenges you in ways you wouldn’t challenge yourself

It’s very typical for people who workout on their own to get into an exercise rut, to get bored with their workout, and to hit a plateau. You’re also less likely to push yourself to new challenges on your own. A personal trainer will push you to the next level and help you find success.

10) Promotes a lifelong healthy lifestyle change

A personal trainer helps you develop good habits and give you knowledge that will last a lifetime. When you hire a personal trainer, you’ve already made fitness a priority. The time spent with a trained professional will give you confidence and knowledge for a lifetime of healthy habits.

Make sure to work with a personal trainer who is certified!

It’s important when hiring a personal trainer to use one who is certified from a reputable, accredited program. No state requires a personal trainer be certified to work with clients. But it’s always required for our trainers at Outlaw FitCamp. We know it’s important for safety, knowledge, and good training practices.

All Outlaw FitCamp trainers are CPR certified (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED certified (automated external defibrillator). Further, they must be certified through one of the reputable and accredited organizations approved by Outlaw FitCamp. These include the following:

  • NASM – National Academy of Sports Medicine
  • ISSA – International Sports Sciences Association
  • NSCA – National Strength and Conditioning Association
  • ACE – American Council of Exercise
