Kayle’s Story

My reasons for joining the challenge were many. I had to do it for my health, I did it for my daughter’s upcoming wedding, and I did it to support a friend. I have never worked out a day in my life, and honestly I was terrified. And if I am truthful, I did not expect to be successful. I have lost weight before, and have always seem to find it again.

The first day of class I could not do a ‘triceps dip’. I had no idea what a burpee was. When Dylan demonstrated a Man Maker, I was thinking, there is no way!  I said more than once, I hate cardio. My weight loss in the past has been strictly from counting calories. That meant I could still have all the things that got me to where I was with my health. I never thought about food as fuel. I never thought about my body as a machine that needed good fuel. I never thought I was an exercise person, a morning person or an active person.

I can now do a tricep dip (while holding a leg up), a burpee is not to be feared, and I love man makers! I think to myself, these are beast makers. I have tiny guns, and a muscle on my shoulder I have never seen before. I think about food in a new way, not as a reward but as fuel. I think about Glycemic Index and Protein. Getting up at 4:30 am is a reward, Cardio is a reward. I have lost weight and inches. But more important than that, I feel strong. I look forward to class I look forward to 5am and I like cardio. I don’t miss the bad food as much as I thought I would. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a craving, but now I stop and think, I have had that before, I am ready for something better.

The strength, the smaller size clothes, the health rewards, and looking better are all huge. What is most surprising are the mental changes. When I am at the gym it seems to be the only time my thoughts are clear. I have made many big decisions during this time. I am far more confident. I sleep better. I am happier. I am proud of my accomplishments, and excited about what is to come. I hear people talking about marathons and triathlons and think, I could totally do that.

I have recommended Outlaw to friends. I cannot thank the staff enough. Tiffany, Christen, Dylan, and Vince, are all extraordinary and inspirational individuals. Each has their own style, and I have taken something to heart from them. I have never felt like I have asked a dumb question. They are always there to correct me if my form is off, to push me when they know I can do more, to say good job. The small class groups really makes me feel like we are connected and it is personal, but class is large enough so I have never felt singled out.

Outlaw for Life!

Christine’s Story

The reason I joined this challenge, was because I wanted to lose the extra weight I have been packing on over the years, I have not taken care of myself and felt like a challenge like this would jump start me into working out. I was feeling terrible about myself and my appearance,  I mentioned the challenge to a good friend at work, I told her I was thinking about  joining and next thing I knew we were both signed up. Little did I know what I was in for!!

After about week one this challenge became more than just about losing the weight/inches, it became about changing so much more in my life, besides the number on the scale. I walked into my first boot camp barely able to finish without feeling like I was going to die and being ashamed of myself. Six weeks later… I can’t wait for class in the morning, I can finish a class and yes they are hard but I can do things I didn’t think I could before. I fit into my clothes better and even had to buy some new ones!!

Change is hard, but its possible if you work hard, not only am I feeling better about myself and the way I look in the mirror, I have clarity thru the day, I sleep better and am more active.  I do my best to stay conscious of what I eat and what I am doing in my down time. I want set an example for my two kids, I want them to be proud of me and  to strive for the same healthy lifestyle. The guidance and motivation that everyone in class provides has been so encouraging.
